“Taking your family history out of the box, and into the future”

Kia ora

My name is Zoe Pullman, and I firmly believe that your family history and whakapapa (genealogy) are taonga tuku iho – treasures from your ancestors that deserve to be nurtured, protected and passed on to those who come after you. One of my favourite whakataukī (proverbs) is ‘Kia whakatōmuri te haere whakamua’, which translates to ‘I walk backwards into the future with my eyes fixed on my past’. We carry our past with us, it both shapes our identity, and influences our future. Therefore our family history should be treated with reverence and respect. Rest assured that I will treasure your family history as I would my own.
